Everything you need to know about DermaPlaning.
Facts researched by a nurse.

Tired of all the myths about Dermaplaning? Too many opinions and not enough facts can easily over whelm a lady, and point us in the wrong direction!
Let me bust a few myths right from the get-go.
MYTH: MY HAIR WILL GROW BACK DARKER AND THICKER?
That's a NEGATIVE. It’s not true that shaving will cause your facial hair to grow back thicker or darker. Your hormones regulate hair growth! Your hair will grow back at the same rate and have the same texture it had before the procedure.
In fact, your hair might even appear more fine than before.
MYTH: MY SKIN IS TOO DARK FOR DERMAPLANING
Wrong again! Dermaplaning is safe for any skin type. Unlike laser treatments or facial peels, Dermaplaning can benefit people with darker complexions. Wearing sunscreen is recommened following any facials to help avoid pigmentation.
MYTH: IT’S PAINFUL.
Hearing that a scalpel is going to be used on your face automatically makes you think that pain must be a big portion of the procedure. Not true!
Dermaplaning is done very quickly without causing any pain.

THE IF-y SIDE:
There are always small exceptions, and dermaplaning is NOT for everyone!
-Is your esthetician professional and educated?
-Do you have active acne?
-Are you taking medications that thin your skin?
-Are you taking hormone replacement therapy?
-Are you pregnant?
NOTE: Pregnancy is a controversial subject when it comes to dermaplaning. Some claim it's amazing to keep your skin clean, while some professionals stress that it can contribute to Melasma, or pregnancy mask.
THE AMAZING GOODNESS OF DERMAPLANING:
FACT: DERMAPLANING SPEEDS UP CELL TURNOVER
As we mature, the skin’s natural exfoliation process goes from every two weeks to once every 40 days.
No one wants their complexion to lack-luster due to dead skin cells building up!
Dermaplaning gently removes the top layer of dead skin cells, revealing the vibrant, supple skin underneath. Your skin will glow with radiance and fine lines will be diminished.
“The deeper layer of skin is more exposed after the end of dermaplaning, which facilitates easy penetration of active ingredients."
A smoothness you cannot beat, flawless makeup application, less bacteria and debris sitting on the surface of your skin.
