Why we should Detox our SKIN.
The skin is the body's largest organ, and it’s constantly in contact with the elements. Pollutants and dirt from the environment can clog your pores, and toxins from your diet can cause your complexion to suffer. Starting a daily or seasonal detoxification routine can brighten skin and reduce acne and redness.

WHY YOU SHOULD DETOXIFY YOUR SKIN
The skin is a reflection of our inner health, yet we often fail to give it that tender loving care it needs to work at its best. Our skin is responsible for maintaining our body temperature and moisture levels, yet we constantly expose it to environmental factors that can hinder its efficiency.
When we aren't mindful in taking care of our skin, it will not perform as designed. You might have dry skin, itchy skin, rashes, blemishes, you name it, all because of what's going on inside of your body. If you're serious about improving your skin's firmness, appearance, and tone, you need to flush out the poisons lurking below the surface.
HOW TO DETOX YOUR SKIN
You can detox your skin many ways. Dietary changes, exercise, brushing, and skin care products can all work together to rid your body of toxins while pulling out the impurities that can make your complexion look dull and tired. Detoxification also boosts energy levels. (BONUS!)
Just think of how many things we put into our bodies that never really leave. Unprocessed food, alcohol, medications, and more continue to work themselves through our bloodstream. Detoxing is important because it removes these poisons that can make you feel and look sluggish. FIX IT!

Here's a few pointers:
-Dry Brushing Dry brushing is an excellent and affordable method for improving circulation and stimulating the lymphatic system, which will rid your body of the toxins and exfoliate by removing the dead skin cells.
-Scrubs Apply a detoxifying scrub or mask weekly to reap the reward of smoother and clearer skin. Mud masks work by drawing out impurities and deeply embedded dirt within the pores.
-Sauna Get your sweat on to remove impurities. Saunas are an excellent method for skin detoxification. Saunas should NEVER be used when you are pregnant or have a heart problem.
-Exercise Clearly the most accessible of all skin detoxification methods, exercise is a natural way to push toxins out of the body through sweat.

-Water Are your drinking enough water? Skin is our largest organ and requires hydration. Eight eight-ounce glasses of water are the bare minimum that you should be consuming daily, especially if you're exercising or sweating it out in a sauna.
-Yoga Bikram yoga, also known as hot yoga, is an ideal skin detoxification activity thanks to all the sweating those poses produce. (I LOVE HOT YOGA!) Drink plenty of water before and after your session to see an improvement in your skin.

DIETARY CHANGES FOR SKIN DETOXIFICATION
Eliminate processed foods, too much sugar, alcohol, sweets.. you can do it! Plenty of water and detoxing teas will do WONDERS! Fruits and veggies, lean meats! Eat regular meals!
WHY AM I BREAKING OUT AFTER MY DETOX?
Answer: RESULTS! Many people are surprised at the aftermath of a skin detoxification. You might even think it's having the opposite effect, especially if you begin to break out or see redness. Rest assured, once you start detoxing and the body begins to push out all those toxins, they will come out of your pores. This means breakouts might be inevitable. Continue on with your detoxification regime, this is going to be a beautiful thing!
