Common Questions

Skin tightening images.jpg

ReNewed Reflections has been professionally trained,

by the top skin treatment program offered in Europe,

as well as hands on training based in Chicago,

in order to offer you this permanent,

skin lifting and tightening procedure.

What is it?

Under our highly trained and professional Nurse Esthetician, we force the skin tissue to contract, virtually immediately by thermally disrupting the skin, as well as the fibroblasts. This micro-trauma stimulates new collagen and helps to release and activate essential proteins and growth factors, such as cytokines and fibroblasts, which makes more collagen than before it was awaken. Eventually, excess skin dries off to form tiny crusts that fall off like dandruff in just a few days. New collagen is formed over a period of up to 6 months!

Is this a safe treatment?

This is one of the first in the world to utilize a Low Frequency delivery of a Plasma Arc. This enables the treatment imprint to be wider, and shallower than traditional thermal devices. The benefits are greater tightening effect, allowing for better results, a quicker healing process, and less down time to each patient. This may be applicable to most skin types, however, your professional provider will perform a test patch prior to treatment.

What is it used to treat?

Able to treat a number of imperfections without actual cutting of the skin.

It may be used for:

-Eyelid Tightening, Lower and Upper

-Smoothing smoking lines

-Lip Augmentation

-Removing skin imperfections,

including skin tags and sun spots

-Improvement of acne scares

-Diminish stretch marks

-Tightening loose stomach, arm, & leg skin

-Diminish lines and wrinkles

-Face-lift, Neck-lift, Chest skin tightening

Does it hurt?

This treatment can be uncomfortable, and may depend on your pain threshold. For a comfortable experience we recommend arriving to your appointment on time, to allow the topical anesthetic application to have the required time to absorb and take effect. Topical anesthetics are applied for 20-30 minutes for best effect.

What is involved in the treatment?

Your Nurse Esthetician will apply numbing solution to the surface of area being treated. Information and after care will be covered while topical anesthesia takes effect. Cream will be removed and treatment will be completed. After care sheet and products needed for post-care are included in price.

How long until I see results?

An immediate tightening will be seen! Once healing has taken place, you see an improvement in skin conditioning and tone. Collagen productions and skin tightening gets progressively better over 10-24 weeks and continues to improve up to a year later.

How long do results last?

This treatment is permanent. The natural aging process of breaking down the collagen will then take place. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors can contribute to collagen breakdown such as UV exposure and smoking. However, depending on the amount of sagging skin, sometimes it is necessary and requires more than a single treatment.

How many treatments will be needed?

This is most often a single treatment. But depending on the skin laxity, more that one treatment may be required to achieve desired results.

How will my skin look immediately after?

The skin will have multiple millimeter trauma marks to the skins surface, and as healing occurs the skin will appear dry and flaky. In the first couple of days, redness and swelling will be present. Every individual will vary, others may have less swelling, whereas some may swell for a week. Pigmentation from the small arcs can be present for longer if the scabs come away earlier than expected.

What are the side effects and risks involved?

Tenderness, redness, swelling are common side effects and are to be expected following treatment. As the skin heals, itching is also expected. After care products are included and should be used to alleviate the side effects.

Other side effects are not limited to, but may include; redness for a few weeks, with risk of scarring, infections and hyper pigmentation or hypo pigmentation, being rare but possible.
